Jim Jones, Alpha Energy Solutions’ new Electrical Estimator/Foreman, started working in the industry after graduating from St. Xavier High School. With three decades of electrical experience, Jones hopes to help the division grow and expand quickly.
“We want to separate ourselves from our competitors. It’s not just about lights and plugs that everybody else does, but we want to be more technologically advanced,” he said.
Jones specializes in power quality and energy solutions. Before joining Alpha Energy Solutions in February, Jones was a project manager at a local electrical firm responsible for electrical infrastructures for many buildings and data centers. He wrote procedures manuals and gained experience with data, security, and industrial controls.
“With Jim’s experience, Alpha is now positioned to give our existing HVAC customers the same level of expertise in electrical projects as we do with HVAC,” said Gerry Lewis, Alpha Energy Solutions’ Director of Sales.
Jones is already saving money for the company. Under his direction, all lighting fixtures at the company headquarters are updated to brighter, energy-efficient products. More than 180 bulbs are being replaced, which Jones says will result in a 40 percent savings in lighting costs.
