It’s one of Louisville’s richest traditions, and for the first time, Alpha Energy Solutions is participating in the Republic Bank Pegasus Parade. The event began in 1956 and is the Kentucky Derby Festival’s oldest event. WAVE-TV will televise it.

From the official web site: “This family-friendly annual event showcases some of the nation’s finest marching bands and equestrian units, along with inflatable characters and colorful floats that are designed and decorated to reflect the 2014 theme, “Call Of The Wild.” ”

Alpha’s spot in the parade will feature the Alpha Energy Solutions #41 racecar, mounted on a 20-foot trailer and pulled by a pickup truck on loan from Bob Hook Chevrolet. Alpha driver Ben Rhodes will ride the parade route on the trailer.

And there’s more. If Alpha’s Bed Race team wins on Monday night, the souped-up, super-secret Bed will be in the parade as well.

There are plenty of vantage points from which to watch the Parade on Broadway. The 1.7-mile route begins at Campbell Street and ends on the 9th. Bring your family and come on down to the Parade on Thursday!
