You might say it wasn’t supposed to be easy. Through five of his 10 scheduled NASCAR XFINITY Series races in the #88 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevy, Rhodes says he’s come a long way up a steep learning curve and believes that his best finishes are still ahead.
Despite having some mechanical issues, the rookie has impressed NASCAR followers with a tenacious competitive streak and has shown an instinct for passing cars whenever there’s an opportunity.
“In every race, I’ve picked up some new knowledge and faced some adversity,” said Rhodes, whose best finish was a 7th place in his debut in Iowa in May. “I think that’s really going to pay off the rest of the year.”
The first opportunity will be on Aug. 15 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. He will compete at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisc. Aug. 29.
Of course, everyone is looking forward to Sept. 26, when Rhodes competes on his home track at Kentucky Speedway.

While Ben will be competing in Ohio on Aug. 15, that’s also the debut date of a new season of “On Track with Ben Rhodes.” The popular half-hour TV show, now in its fourth season, showcases Ben along with host Kent Spencer and a prominent weekly guest.
The show, produced by the Catholic Sports Network, airs Saturdays at Noon on WBKI-TV in Louisville and Sundays at 3:30 on WBNA-TV. It is sponsored by Alpha Energy Solutions, Passport Health Plan, and Bob Hook Chevrolet.
