The non-profit organization, A Voice for Hope, is partnering with the UK Medical Center to set up a tent at the Speedway. The group expects to conduct 200 screenings on Saturday at the track.
The screenings are performed by cancer specialist physicians and a large cohort of other medical professionals who volunteer their time to do the screenings. They will be set up in a tent, which will be cooled by Alpha Energy Solutions equipment and monitored by Alpha on-site personnel.
“We’re proud to play a role in helping people get cancer screenings,” said Gerry Lewis, Alpha’s Director of Sales. “It’s important for the health of our citizens to not only test for mouth and throat cancer, but to educate the public on ways to prevent it.”
Alpha Energy Solutions is playing a big role during the Speedway events. Alpha technicians will be on site, making sure that indoor areas have properly functioning air conditioning equipment in addition to providing cooling for tented areas, including the Cancer Screening tent.
In addition, Ben Rhodes, driver of the #41 Alpha Energy Solutions race car, will be in the Fan Zone with the car signing autographs.
